5K Run--Barber to Boise--October 17th

So after moving out to Boise in September, Tammy and Steven were asking Chris and Dawn if they wanted to run in a 5K. I listened but never got questioned luckily. So a couple days later, Tammy asked if I wanted to run in a 5K called Barber to Boise. I seriously just laughed. She encouraged me and I asked if I could be in shape enough to do it by October 17th. She said, Oh yeah, a month is plenty of time. Well, we started going out each morning at 6:15 to walk. Over time we started to run 2 minutes, walk 1 minute. Then she got all crazy and wanted to go out at 6:00 AM, but I went.

So morning of the race, the whole night I kept getting charlie horses and didn't really eat anything before we ran. I'd say a MAJOR mistake. We went to the Barber to Boise, and I was getting all nervous and began rambling on like right now and telling her I'd see her at the finish line. Don't wait for me, etc, etc. She kept telling me we were going to complete it together. We used the same system as when we were going out in the mornings. I was feeling bad because I felt I was holding her back from finishing in a decent time. Tammy was so encouraging and kept cheering me on. But we hung in there together. We completed the race in 47 minutes. To wrap up the race, we did a lap around Boise State University Stadium and then on the track. Boy was I hurting and EXHAUSTED and thristy and kinda hungery.

Steven, Hayden, Bryson, and Cameron were there to see us finish the race and tell us how good we did. Was it worth it? To me yes, I never thought I'd run a 5K in my life. I'm ready for the off season, but as Tammy informed me running doesn't have a season. Now she is all crazy talking about doing more races--Turkey Run (i'm guessing a November race); prepare for next year and possibly doing a 10K? Yeah, I'm going to stick to the 5K for now, but who knows what will happen in the end.

Before the race began. . .waiting for the gun to go off.

After the race. . .

My exhausted, what was I thinking face

But proud I finished and did it look.

And I got an awesome shirt. A way good accomplishment for myself and I'm glad Steven and Tammy were so encouraging.

The FINAL Cake

I'm so proud of my baby...

Wedding Cake Success. . .

So i finshed the cake. When I actually started seriously workign on it, I'd say it took 3 hours to complete the three tiers which included frosting, mixing fondant, placing the fondant, and assembling the real cake--layer by layer. I must say I kinda sorta enjoyed it. SHHH, i'm not going into business by the way. Rachelle and Burke LOVED it! ! ! That made it even more worth it.

Countdown

So. . .it is Monday night, I have one more day of work this week and then I head to Rexburg to make the wedding cake. I can't believe it is already here...crazy.

Here is what it should look like/hope it turns out.

Instead of sage ribbon, vision a green with brown dots on it...What do you think....

And then take the topper off and Kjersti made one with callalilies--way cute. I'll post pictures of the final product! !
